Excluding contacts and groups from a campaign

Sometimes, you don't want a campaign to reach everyone in your lists. In Sendigram, you can exclude specific contacts, lists, or groups to make sure only the right people receive your emails.

1. Why Exclude Recipients?

Exclusion helps you:

  • Avoid sending duplicate emails to overlapping audiences.
  • Exclude unengaged subscribers from general campaigns.
  • Prevent customers who already purchased an offer from receiving the same promotion.
  • Keep campaigns targeted and relevant.

2. How to Exclude Lists or Groups

  1. Open your campaign and go to the Contacts block.
  2. Select the lists, groups, or segments you want to send to.
  3. Click on Exclude recipients.
  4. Choose the groups or segments you want to exclude.
  5. Save your changes.

Example: Send to All Customers group but exclude VIP Customers list.

3. How to Exclude Specific Contacts

  • Tag the contacts you don't want to include (e.g., "Purchased Promo A").
  • Create a segment that excludes those tags.
  • Select that segment as your campaign audience.

4. Deduplication (Automatic Exclusion)

  • If a contact appears in multiple selected lists, Sendigram automatically ensures they receive only one email.
  • No action is needed for duplicate prevention.
