How to select recipients: Contacts, Groups, Segments

When creating a campaign in Sendigram, choosing the right recipients is one of the most important steps. You can target your emails to Contacts, Groups, or Segments depending on your goals.

1. Recipient Options in Sendigram

Contacts

  • Groups – subscribers stored in your account.
  • Best for general campaigns to broad audiences.

Segments

  • Segments are dynamic filters applied to lists.
  • Examples:
    • Contacts who opened an email in the last 30 days.
    • Subscribers tagged as VIP.
    • Inactive contacts who haven't clicked in 90 days.
  • Perfect for personalization and targeted messaging.

2. Selecting Recipients in a Campaign

  1. Create or edit a campaign.
  2. Open the Contacts block in the Campaign Card.
  3. Choose:
    • Groups – select a pre-created group that bundles multiple contacts.
    • Segments – apply advanced filters to target specific contacts.
  4. Save your selection.

3. Combining Recipient Types

  • You can select multiple lists or segments for one campaign.
  • Contacts that exist in more than one list are automatically deduplicated so they won't receive the same email twice.

The combined number of recipients chosen for the current campaign is displayed on the campaign card.
