Understanding domain statuses: Verified, Processing, Unverified
When you add a sending domain in Sendigram, it goes through a verification process. Each domain has a status that shows whether it's ready to be used for sending campaigns.
1. Verified
- Meaning: Your domain has been successfully verified with the required DNS records (SPF, DKIM, and optionally DMARC).
- What it allows:
- You can send campaigns using this domain as the "From" address.
- Your emails will have improved deliverability and a trusted sender reputation.
- What to do next: Nothing — the domain is ready to use.
2. Processing
- Meaning: Sendigram has detected your domain but is still waiting for DNS verification. This usually happens after you've added the domain but haven't yet completed the DNS record setup, or DNS changes are still propagating.
- What it allows:
- You cannot send campaigns from this domain until verification is complete.
- What to do next:
- Check that you've added SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records correctly at your domain registrar/host.
- Wait up to 24–48 hours for DNS propagation.
- Click Verify Again in Sendigram once DNS records are active.
3. Unverified
- Meaning: Your domain either has not been verified or verification failed.
- Possible reasons:
- DNS records missing or entered incorrectly.
- DNS propagation not yet complete.
- Using an unsupported email provider/domain.
- What it allows:
- You cannot send campaigns from this domain until it's verified.
- What to do next:
- Re-check your DNS settings.
- Ensure you copied SPF/DKIM/DMARC records exactly as provided by Sendigram.
- If issues persist, contact your domain host or Sendigram Support.
