Understanding Your Domain Health

Maintaining a high sender reputation is the secret sauce to ensuring your emails actually land in your subscribers' inboxes instead of the dreaded spam folder. The Domain Health tab is your command center for monitoring how email providers view your domain and how Sendigram manages your sending speed to protect your reputation.

1. Blacklist Monitoring

As soon as you add a domain to Sendigram, we automatically run a check to see if your domain appears on any global blacklists.

Checking Your Status

In the Domain Health tab, you will see the date of your last check. If you want a real-time update, simply click the Check Now button to trigger a fresh scan.

  • Healthy Status: "Your domain wasn’t found on any blacklists. You can safely use it to send emails."
  • Blacklisted Status: If your domain or IP is flagged, we will list the specific blacklists (e.g., Blacklist X, Blacklist Y).

What to do if you are blacklisted:

If you find yourself on a blacklist, we recommend:

  1. Switching domains: Use a different, clean domain for your immediate sending needs.
  2. Requesting removal: Contact the specific blacklist database administrators to appeal the listing.
  3. Support: Reach out to us at support@sendigram.com if you need guidance.

2. Delivery Health & Provider Indicators

We track your domain’s reputation across five major provider categories: Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo, and Others.

Your Delivery Health isn't just a label—it's a dynamic reflection of your reputation that directly influences how our system handles your email traffic.

The Three Health States

Our system automatically adjusts your sending speed based on these states to prevent your domain from being permanently blocked.

Status Color What it means System Action
Normal Green Your reputation is healthy; the provider is accepting your mail. Emails are sent at normal speed.
Low Orange Partial blocks detected. Your reputation is starting to dip. Sending speed is reduced to protect your domain from further damage.
Bad Red High block rates detected. Your reputation is in a critical state. Sending speed is set to minimum to avoid a total provider-wide block.

3. Why Sending Speed Matters

You might wonder why we slow down your emails when your health is "Low" or "Bad."

Email providers use sophisticated filters. If they see a "warm" or "cold" domain suddenly blasting thousands of emails while receiving blocks, they will blacklist it entirely. By automatically throttling (slowing down) the sending speed, Sendigram acts as a safety buffer, giving your domain a chance to recover its reputation without being completely shut down by the provider.
