How to work with a segment

After creating a Segment in Sendigram, you can easily review its criteria, track its growth, and manage it directly from your dashboard.

Because segments are dynamic, they automatically update in the background, but there are several manual actions you can take to manage them effectively.

Reviewing Segment Details

When you navigate to your Segments list, the dashboard provides a high-level overview of each segment's performance and size:

  • Segment Name: The title you gave the segment upon creation.
  • Contacts: The total number of subscribers currently matching your segment's rules.
  • Active Contacts: The percentage of reachable, active subscribers within that specific segment.
  • Created: The date the segment was originally built.

Checking Segment Conditions

If you need a quick reminder of how a specific segment is filtered without opening the full editor, you can use the quick-view feature.

  1. Locate the Conditions column for your chosen segment, which displays the total number of rules applied.
  2. Click on the text (for example: "Conditions + 3") to open a quick-view window.
  3. This window will list all the active parameters filtering that segment.
  4. You can close this window at any time by clicking OK or the X icon.

Note: The quick-view window can display up to a maximum of 10 conditions.

If your segment uses more than 10 rules, clicking this element will bypass the quick-view and open the full segment card instead.

Searching for a Segment

As you build more complex funnels, your list of segments will grow.

You can easily locate a specific segment using the search function.

  1. Enter the segment's name into the search bar.
  2. The system will filter results based on a match of one or more characters.

Editing and Deleting

If your campaign strategy changes, you can adjust your segments accordingly.

  • To edit: You can open the full segment card to add, remove, or change the conditions (parameters) filtering your audience.
  • To delete: Similar to groups, if a segment is no longer needed for your campaigns or workflows, you can select it and delete it from your dashboard to keep your workspace organized.

Note: Deleting a segment does not delete the contacts themselves; it only deletes the dynamic list filtering them.
