Understanding campaign statuses: Waiting, In progress, Paused, Finished
When you create and launch a campaign in Sendigram, it moves through different statuses that reflect its sending stage. Understanding these statuses helps you track delivery, troubleshoot issues, and plan next actions.
1. Waiting
- Meaning: The campaign is scheduled but has not started sending yet.
- When it appears:
- You scheduled the campaign for a future date/time.
- The system is preparing recipient lists before delivery begins.
- What to do:
- You can still edit, reschedule, or cancel the campaign while it is in Waiting.
- Review your subject line, contacts, and template if you want to make last-minute changes.
2. In Progress
- Meaning: The campaign is currently being sent.
- When it appears:
- Emails are being processed and delivered to recipients.
- For very large campaigns, sending may happen in batches to protect deliverability.
- What to do:
- You cannot edit the content while it's in progress.
- You may be able to pause or stop the campaign (depending on settings).
- Partial results (e.g., delivered, opened, clicked so far) may already be visible in reports.
3. Paused
- Meaning: The campaign is currently on hold.
- When it appears:
- When a user set the campaign on pause manually.
- When campaign is paused due to the expired plan or domain.
- For very large campaigns, sending may happen in batches to protect deliverability.
- What to do:
- You can edit the message or replace the email template completely.
- You could click Start to proceed with sending the campaign. If the campaign was paused automatically due to the expired plan or domain, you will have to reactivate the expired emails or prolongate the usage of the expired domain manually beforehand.
- Partial results (e.g., delivered, opened, clicked so far) may already be visible in reports.
4. Finished
- Meaning: The campaign has completed sending.
- When it appears:
- All recipients have been processed.
- The campaign is no longer editable.
- What to do:
- Review performance in the Reports section (opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes).
- Compare with past campaigns to improve future results.
- Share results with your team or export reports for stakeholders.
